“The dress must follow the body of a woman, not the body
following the shape of the dress”
– Hubert De Givenchy.
Most people struggle for ideal body shapes. If you are one
of them, then come out of it because there is no ideal shape.
According to the surveys around the world, most of the women
are categorized into few groups of body types.
1.
Average: well proportionate, balanced in every
way. The shoulder, hips are proportionate with a well defined waist line. This
kind of figure is rarely found.
2.
Wedge: wide at the shoulders and can be full
busted with narrow waist and hips and a broad back, slender legs.
3.
Hourglass: shoulder and hips are full with a
small waist, back is broad and thighs are full.
4.
Triangle: smaller in bust and shoulder than hips
or thighs.
5.
Rectangle: angular with few curves and no
defined waist line. There is little difference between the waist and the hip
line.
6.
Thin figure: narrow in shoulders, waist and hips
and the shape is thin and straight with no or very less curves.
7.
Oval: full upper body, full at waist, wide hipline
and prominent tummy constitute an oval figure.
