Organize your wardrobe in 3 steps

Saturday, 3 August 2013

Before you begin with fashion or style, I believe everything starts from your wardrobe. Your wardrobe is the birth place of your fashion.

Small or big doesn't
matters… the key is how you organize.

A good wardrobe is a collection of clothes which go with one another. And this takes planning before you start to shop. A planned wardrobe can work very much like a planned budget.

 Step 1:
  • Base your plan on your way of life.
  • Think of your morning to night activities, your likes and dislikes, your hobbies.
  • This includes all the things you do, all the places you go, your social activities, your employment, your sports, you’re travelling, your friends, and all other facets of your life that demand certain kinds of clothing.
  • If your wardrobe is planned for your life style, you will have the right thing to wear for                   everything you might be called upon to do.
  •  The key of clothing is that fits your life style.

Step 2

Check your closet and divide the clothes in three categories: flush, keep, may be.

  •  Flush: the clothes you never wear, which were out of fashion. Donate these to a charity or sell them in used clothing websites like

  •  Keep: you always wear.
  • May be: (the clothes which need your loving care) kept in closet for long time. A button missing, a torn place to be mended, or perhaps a bit of refreshment to be added.
Recycle these clothes by adding little embellishments and creativity.

Step 3:
  • Sort your clothes into manageable sections.
  • First By category: Office/Work, Weekend/Casual and Occasion/Evening.
  • Followed By items: pants, tops, bottoms and so on.
  • Then by color: red, blue, green…
